The state of Colima is one of the three smallest states of Mexico and with 600.000 inhabitants low populated. Bordering in the north to the state of Jalisco and in the south to Michoacán, Colima is located at the Pacific Coast. The state is subdivided in 10 municipalities with the capital city of Colima. Featuring a very nice coast, partly called Costa Alegre, the states economy depends besides agricultural production of international tourism. Cultural tradition and local identity is very important for the inhabitants, a reason why Colima holds is own and authentic Mexican culture. While the city of Colima is the capital, the largest city is Manzanillo at the states coast.
