Close to the southern border of the state of Jalisco is located Barra de Navidad (Christmas sandbank). The main part of Barra de Navidad is situated on the sandbank and is home for about 7500 inhabitants. Barra de Navidad together with nearby Melaque, is the most visited area between Manzanillo in the state of Colima and Puerto Vallarta at the northern part of the coast of Jalisco. The natural beauty and the nice atmosphere due to its location may be the reason why many travelers decided to settle there or to have vacations there.
