The surfers paradise close to Puerto Vallarta is the city of Sayulita about 50 minutes north of the airport and located between the villages of Punta Mita to the south and San Pancho to the north. Visited since about 50 years now, once Sayulita was a secret travel spot for passionate surfers of all countries. The surf is perfect for water sports and the tranquil village provides all important services for travelers and water sport enthusiasts and families as well as a huge quantity of privately owned vacation rentals, casitas, for each budget. The surrounding areas are still virgin beaches and forests, so eco tourism is also possible. Bungalows offer perfect conditions for travelers who visit Mexico by car or trailer. Many expats made their way to Sayulita and never got back to their home countries. This nice travel destination is located at the center of the so called Riviera Nayarit and will become more popular during the next years, as the Riviera Nayarit concentrates on new developments to offer its Pacific Ocean coast to the international tourism.
