The Mexican state of Oaxaca is located in the south of Mexico at the Pacific Ocean. Oaxaca borders in the north to the state of Puebla, in the northwest to the state of Guerrero, in the northeast to the state of Veracruz and in the east to the state of Chiapas. Oaxaca features with 570 municipalities the most in any state of Mexico. With a population of about 3.5 Millionen inhabitants it ranks on place ten in Mexico. Besides the agriculture and crafts industry, the tourism is the most important industry in Oaxaca.
