The state of San Luis Potosí is located north of the central Mexico region. San Luis Potosí borders to the north to the states of Tamaulipas and Nuevo León, to the east to the state of Veracruz, to the south to the states of Hidalgo, Querétaro and Guanajuato and to the west it borders to the state of Zacatecas. The capital is the city of San Luis Potosí and the territory is divided in 58 municipalities. Manufacturing and mining make the biggest part of the states economy. San Luis Potosí is well known for its cultural impressions and for the peoples interest in culture and preserving the colonial style buildings in the cities.
