The Mexican state of Puebla is located in the south of Mexico and does not border with the oceans. To the west Puebla borders the states of Hidalgo, Morelos and Mexico, to the south the states Guerrero and Oaxaca. East and northeast of Puebla the state of Veracruz provides the longest border with Puebla. The location in the south of the countries center, makes Puebla a state with well developed regional industrial areas, but agriculture is still the biggest part of the local economy. The medium large state is subdivided in 217 municipalities and the capital is the city of Puebla.
