Tabasco is a very humid state in the south of the Mexican Republic. It borders to the north to the Gulf of Mexico and to the south to the country of Guatemala.To the west it borders to the state of Veracruz and to the south it borders to the state of Chiapas. The neighbour state to the east is Campeche. Tabasco is divided into 17 municipalities, the capital of Tabasco is the city Villahermosa. Besides its nice coastal area, in Tabasco are numerous ancient ruins and archeological sites of different cultures located. Tourism becomes more and more important for Tabasco. The state features a low population density and its surface is mostly covered by forrests and rainforrests featuring many unique species.
